Heritage renovation management Melbourne.

Andrew worked with FDC Construction & Fitout as part of the management team that completed the heritage renovation of the stunning Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne.

The Abbotsford Convent is Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct with over 6.5 hectares and 11 historic buildings and gardens. It was mandated that the heritage-protected building fabric be maintained and protected throughout the project. This renovation presented the team with a few challenges including abating significant quantities of hazardous materials without damaging existing fragile finishes.

The Sacred Heart building was deteriorating and had been inaccessible to the public for over 20 years, with other areas of the building for over 40 years. Its renovation transformed the crumbling buildings into contemporary commercial offices and retail and designer studio spaces.
